Talking about the State Election Commission of Ladakh scheduling the Panchayat General Elections across all Panchayat in the Union Territory, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk said, "If election promises have no meaning, then what is the meaning of elections?" He called for nationwide reform of the electoral process, urging accountability so politicians actually fulfil their written promises.
