Senegal: Bassirou Diomaye Faye Takes Early Lead in Tightly Contested Presidential Election

Early results in Senegal’s tightly contested presidential election show candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye taking the lead. His supporters took to the streets of the capital, Dakar, celebrating the early results. Meanwhile, at least five of the 19 presidential candidates have issued statements congratulating Faye.
