The Supreme Court has dismissed a PIL seeking a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged large-scale voter list manipulation in Bengaluru Central during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The plea, filed by Advocate Rohit Pandey, referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “Vote Chori” allegations, citing over 40,000 invalid voters and 10,000 duplicate entries.
A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi declined to entertain the plea, directing the petitioner to approach the Election Commission of India instead. The petition claimed that the anomalies violated Articles 324, 325, and 326 of the Constitution, affecting the principle of “one person, one vote.”
