Next Indian Elections

More than 750,000 people have signed a petition demanding an immediate general election.

The petition on the official Parliament website calls for another vote as Sir Keir Starmer's popularity has plummeted following Labour's landslide win in July last year.

It says: "We want an immediate general election to be held. We think the majority need and want change."

However, the Government has rejected calls for a fresh ballot, which is not due until 2029. A response last week said: "This Government was elected on a mandate of change at the July 2024 General Election.
