Nigel Farage urges Andy Burnham to call a general election
Nigel Farage has called for a general election now that Andy Burnham has become the Prime Minister.
Labour's MP for Makerfield began life as the PM on Monday, recruiting his new Cabinet late into the night.
Speaking to reporters, the Reform UK leader said: "The Prime Minister says he's going to make the biggest change to politics in Britain in 40 years. Hang on. This government wasn't elected on that back in 2024.
"This is the most fundamental change we've seen from a new prime minister. But this guy has not been elected. He has no mandate to do this. He's got to go to the country."
