Next Indian Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to return for a third term at the Centre, though his BJP-led NDA coalition fell short of expectations in the face of a surprisingly strong showing by the Opposition INDIA bloc. Despite aiming for over 400 seats, the NDA managed to get 292 seats, with the result on one seat still pending. The party was hamstrung by an underwhelming performance in the bellwether state of Uttar Pradesh as a revitalised INDIA bloc won 233 seats.
