In 2019, Vinod Bhiva Nikole (CPI(M)) first won the Dahanu seat by securing 72,114 votes (~43.45%), defeating Dhanare Paskal Janya (BJP), who received 67,407 votes (~40.61%) — a relatively close contest with a margin of around 4,707 votes.
In 2014, Paskal Dhanare (BJP) had won Dahanu with 44,849 votes (~28.96%), defeating Mangat Barkya Vansha (CPI(M)) who polled 28,149 votes (~18.18%).
