In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the Bhandara-Gondiya constituency in Maharashtra, Dr. Prashant Yadaorao Padole of the Indian National Congress (INC) won the seat. He secured 587,413 votes, accounting for 47.56% of the total vote share. His nearest rival, Sunil Baburao Mendhe from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), received 550,033 votes, which was 44.53% of the votes. The margin of victory for Dr. Padole was 37,380 votes, indicating a closely contested election.

The Bhandara-Gondiya constituency, a significant parliamentary seat comprising assembly segments from the districts of Bhandara and Gondiya, has witnessed political shifts over recent elections. The 2024 result marks a gain for the Congress from BJP, reflecting competitive multi-party dynamics in the region.

Voter turnout was robust at approximately 67.59%, showing strong electoral engagement. Besides the main contenders, candidates from other parties such as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA), along with some independents, also participated, securing smaller vote shares.

This election result underscores the continued political significance of Bhandara-Gondiya with the Congress reclaiming the seat from BJP, amidst a lively electoral competition.
