Next Indian Elections

The performance of the Indian National Congress (INC) in the 2026 assembly elections across five states—West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam—and the Union Territory of Puducherry was mixed, with a clear highlight in Kerala but setbacks elsewhere. The party’s biggest success came in Kerala, where the Congress-led UDF staged a strong comeback and secured a decisive majority, returning to power after nearly a decade. However, in states like Assam, the Congress lagged far behind as the BJP-led alliance swept the الانتخابات, leaving the Congress with limited seats. Similarly, in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, the party struggled to make a major impact, facing defeats and marginal gains despite some isolated wins. Overall, while the Congress showed signs of revival—especially through its Kerala victory—it underperformed in most other regions, highlighting both its continued regional relevance and its broader electoral challenges.
