In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Amravati constituency in Maharashtra was won by Balwant Baswanta Wankhede of the Indian National Congress (INC). He secured 526,271 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Navneet Ravi Rana of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who received 506,540 votes. The victory margin was 19,731 votes .

This constituency comprises six Vidhan Sabha segments: Badnera, Amravati, Teosa, Daryapur (SC), Melghat (ST), and Achalpur. Historically, Amravati has been a significant seat, with notable leaders like Pratibha Patil, who later became the 12th President of India, having represented the area .

In the 2019 elections, Navneet Kaur Rana, an independent candidate, won the seat by defeating Anandrao Adsul of the Shiv Sena by a margin of 36,951 votes .
