Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch on his election bid
Ireland’s most unlikely general election candidate, Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, wants to be very clear about two things.
The first is that he “couldn’t care less” about Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald. He says he is not running in the Dublin Central constituency to try and take her seat.
He rubbishes suggestions that he is interested in revenge against Sinn Féin after its former councillor, Jonathan Dowdall, was a state witness against Hutch in last year’s Regency murder trial.
