Next Indian Elections

The last phase of voting across eight states in the six-week long staggered general election in India began on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party, are up against a broad opposition alliance led by the Congress and powerful regional parties. The six-week voting period concludes Saturday and ballots will be counted on Tuesday.
