42 new political parties registered since 2024 Elections
The Deputy CEO of the Electoral Commission, Masego Sheburi, says they registered 42 new political parties after the May 2024 General Elections, bringing the total number to 480.
On Friday, the Afrika Mayibuye Movement was launched in Johannesburg, led by former EFF deputy leader and uMkhonto weSizwe Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu.
Sidney Baloyi, who speaks for the new kid on the block, says consultation processes that began in June gave leaders of the movement a clear indication that the electorate was open to a progressive political formation.
